About The SenSeis
The SenSeis (尚尚齋) is a workshop that provides premium artworks of Chinese calligraphy and other academic publications to the public. Our goal is to introduce and present traditional Chinese culture through high-quality artworks and publications created and written by well-qualified individuals who are masters of their art (ie. SenSeis).
SenSei (先生), in classical Chinese, is an honorific title bestowed upon a respected and well-learned individual who is a master of one's own art. It was often used to address honourable intellects such as teachers, scholars, and philosophers. In Japan, the term extends to honour individuals who choose to dedicate their life to their own professions and so can include those who are teachers, physicians, calligraphers, carpenters, and other respectable occupations.
